how often do you upgrade electronics?

i just ordered a new camera and this is the first time in about 2 years i've upgraded it. i then started thinking about how often i upgrade my electronics. when i do upgrade i try not to do it to close together and make substantial upgrades and only to things i use regularly. typically i buy a new digital camera every 2 years, a new laptop every 2-4 years, and a new cell phone every 8-12 months.

If i have the money. A cell phone every year, build a new desktop every 2 years, don't really care about digital camera's, the one i have been using since 2006 works fine.
