I just went to AT&T yesterday to ask about that same teathering thing. I didnt do it cuz I am granfathered in to the unlimited plan. So I though about just getting a air card with 2Gs. they have a calculator on att.com and you can get a good idea what you will use. streaming is what kills the GB from what I was told?Originally posted by FitnessBrat View PostWell I've never used more than the 2GB I had just on the phone, and I won't be doing too terribly much more on my laptop, I don't think. Just general browsing, stuff for school, emails, etc. I won't be streaming music or downloading videos or anything like that. I guess the worst that can happen is they add another GB for $10, huh?
the card would be for my lap top at my store not full time use so 2Gs should be good for me.

First off, I wouldn't know where to start with that! But, are there any reasons not to do that? Can something go wrong and then my phone is screwed up?Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostFB, I would just jailbreak the damn thing and use PDANet. $15 gets you a lifetime license and then you can tether for free.

1. You jailbreak your phone. Go to iclarified.com and read the tutorials. Not too hard to do.
2. Go to Cydia (the App store for jailbroken phones) and download an app called PdaNet.
3. Go to the PdaNet website and get a key (1 time payment of $15, I think).
4. PdaNet app on your phone will allow you to plug your computer to the phone and use the phone's cell connection as a modem, i.e. tethering. You don't need to pay AT&T anything.
