  • I'm now fully convinced my employer wants to get rid of me without firing me.

Found out today that I didn't get a raise for the second year in a row. Turns out that other higher employees are telling me to do things and then when they get yelled at they throw me under the bus. No one even comes to me to find out why something was done. And no matter how much I better my work it's still not good enough for them. I need a new job and career. This is getting ridiculous.

That's my world at work :( It's miserable to go to work when you dislike the people/management/etc. I feel your pain.

Every day it gets worse and worse. I want to just quit but I cant with nothing else lined up. I even go above and beyond to help around there, but no more. I'll go in do what I have to and go home.

Jokes aside, did anyone else get a raise. Maybe they don't have the money.

Everyone I talked to got a raise. Even the ones that didn't get one the last time. The line my top supervisor said that killed me is he didn't take a raise so others could. I was like ok sure the guy that's been passed up for a promotion for the past 10 years passed on a raise.

LOL surprisingly work is the only place i'm not an ass hole. I just yelled so the person above me in my apartment could hear me say she is a heavy walking fat cow.

I would go right to the source and ask them what the deal is. Stay calm and get to the bottom of it.

I plan to. First I am going to speak with my immediate supervisor when he's back in the office on Monday to hash it all out.

That's exactly why my fiancé quit her job last month. She hated her boss, she was a complete bitch. Couple of days before her two weeks notice ended she begged her to stay and my girl told her that she can't work with her anymore because of her attitude.

You can ask the man himself, but ask him when your prepared to hear the answer.
                  Otherwise get something else.

                        ^^ lol

I'm a designer at an engineering firm. Sadly I have to keep doing this until I can figure out something more enjoyable to do for the rest of my life.

This morning I sat down with the head designer here and he gave me some good advice and told me he's got my back from now on. We need to start working together on projects so that if anyone tries to blame us we both can go back and say fuck off.

He said it definitely sounds like they are trying to build a case to fire me, but doesn't understand why because I get my work done without issues.

without knowing the details. its sounds to me like they view you as someone who gets his work done but thats about it. sort of like a C student in school. you arent horrible like a D-F student but the type of work you do is not A+ material.

could there be any truth to that? might want to think about it bro. company's want talented hard working employees. if you are both those things, why would they want to get rid of you?

i feel like a lot of places want to fire people who are competent but can't find the grounds to do so (maybe they can give raises but do so in hopes someone else will quit). the sheer number of cases going in to internal and government EEOC's have gone up tremendously and a significant amount of those cases go in favor of the employee. a lot of people are quitting at the company i work at because they aren't getting raises or promotions (and 90% they are people who have been working there for 5-6 years).
