So I'm driving home and I get to the lights, there's three lanes all going forward and I'm in middle lane, middle lane and outside merge so that 3 lanes become 2. Lights go green and we start to move, there's cars in front at these lights so they begin to zip in front of me, my car is in front of the one to my right so I hold my line and he merges in behind me.
I accelerate and get close to 40mph when I notice the guy that just merged/zipped behind me red faced and making hand gestures, I slow a little so I can safely get a proper look in my rear mirror because I'm thinking something must be wrong.
He slams all on and I slow more and then I think he's pissed because of the merge and is looking for a fight so I initially drive off.
He catches up and broadsides me shouting out the window and chucked something. I keep driving and go into tne filter lane to turn off the main road towards home, he follows in behind me like he's following me and the filter light is on red. So I think enough is enough if he wants to do it let's do it here instead of outside my home. I get out the car and walk over, his window is open and I say 'your supposed to merge back there and I was the car in front so you supposed to merge behind me, he says you bullied your way in, I say no I didn't I was the car in fron and just held my line and you eventually merged behind me'.
But then he says you stopped on a main road and three cars crashed behind me and you caused it, now I have your details and I'm going to report it.
Now clearly road rage guy changed tactic when I was stood at the side of him from being the big angry swearing guy to the guy that was Mr Police now. But my question is am I at fault or responsible for those people that bumped?
I only slowed from say 40 to 30 mph because he was making gestures and I thought something might be wrong with my car until I realised he was just in a rage, where as he slowed right down?
I shoulda never taken a second look in my rear mirror but I didn't immediately see that he was just being an angry tosser.
