A friend sent me the video below of an 8 month old hearing for the first time. I found it quite interesting. The kid's reaction is great

i've seen that video a few times and every time i smile. it's really amazing how he recognizes his mother's voice.

Sometimes their reactions are not so great. My wife teaches deaf and hard of hearing and there are many times where they dont like the change and have a very hard time adjusting. There's actually a great documentary out there on a couple that got cochlear implants and how it changed their lives
