  • Mac Users...need opinion

I have always worked on windows. I have been playing with my friends mac for the past few weeks and I love it. He has an ibook. I need a laptop. Apple has a great deal for students, I can get a new powerbook for 200 less and pay like 15 a month. I would obviously pay more then that. I would pay at least 40 a month. Do you think that is a good idea?

hi turbo, I did that while I was in college. Bought a mac for $15 a month. I love my mac. We have both at home... the $$$ is in our mac though. It's for me. I am a graphic designer and everything is done on the mac. Because it's my job, that's why I have one. I do prefer it, I think it runs a little easier than a PC. Anyone that is going into advertising, I'd recommend a mac, or education. That seems to be the places where they use them most. If you like a mac, then get one. Now most programs are offered on both platforms. My boss has a dual processor mac.., you can run it like windows or the mac-- you'd never know... you may want to look into that model then you have both platforms.

I was gonna get the 12" power book and a 10g ipod. I think now I am just gonna go with the 15" powerbook. I don't think I would use the ipod that much. I do need a laptop and I would love to learn how to use a mac as good as I can use windows.

how fun!!! I have a G4 here and at home... I'm still running system software 9.2.... in order to upgrade to 10 I have to upgrade all of my design programs. I got to do that one of these days. You'll be on 10! Congratulations on your purchase.

Mine doesn't come with Panther and in Panther they made it easier to use with windows, that would be great for me. I could share files more easily between my pc and my powerbook. How easy are Macs to get use to? I am pretty good on windows.

you're probably going to be running on jaguar then, I think macs are really easy to get used to. I'd be surprised to hear if you had any trouble using it.

I just got off the phone with Apple. If mine doesn't come with Panther I can upgrade once I get my computer for like 20 dollars. I am so excited, I have wanted a laptop forever. I just can't believe I spent 2 grand on one though.

                              Hello Turbo My love!

Macs are great - good luck with your new one. I had one for years and it was a real Trooper - I Put it through hell and back with all the programs I run simultaneously.

I have a friend who has all the latest and greatest components that MAC puts out. If you need someone to "jive" with or have any questions - he would be your man. You know where to reach me, sweet cheeks!
