Not the most amazing system in the world but its damn nice. Much better Picture Quality and sound then the average movie theater.

    Here is my setup:

Side and surround speakers: Polk Audio - TSi Series Loudspeakers

Center channel speaker: Polk Audio - TSi Series Loudspeakers

Sub: Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX Powered Subwoofer

Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR509 - 5.1-Channel 3-D Ready Network A/V Receiver | Model Information | Onkyo USA Home Theater Products

TV: Standard 1080P LG 47 inch. (Smaller living room so we dont need anything bigger.) LG 47LV5500 Televisions - 47" Class 1080P 120Hz LED TV with SmartTV (46.9" diagonal) - LG Electronics US

Clean power and surge protector: Amazon.com: Belkin PF60 PureAV™ Home Theater Power Console - Black: Electronics

Comcast HD DVR and PS3 for tv, netflix, and blu ray.

      Here's mine:

TV: Sharp 70" LC-70LE732U, 70" Class LED LCD TV, Quattron quad pixel Technology | Sharp Electronics

Speakers: Sony 5.1 speakers we got as a housewarming present a while back from our sister-in-law a while back. Not fantastic but good enough for our condo.

Receiver: Denon AVR-1912 with Audyssey Multi-EQ, Internet radio, etc. DENON US | AVR-1912

Comcast HD DVR, PS3, Wii. I even got a VCR hooked up to my system, so beat that homies.. :weights:

You're nuts... I got a 70" TV and I think I would do just fine with 80" if/when such a thing is available to anyone not named Bill Gates...

You probably got a big old house but I got the impression bouncers was more modest, how big is the room the 70inch is in?

scrum, you wont be welcomed as a true AVS'er until you get with it in the sound department. its not about how loud a speaker can get, its about the quality of the speaker at all volumes. having a condo or apartment is no excuse! :noo:

Let me tell you, I thought that as well. Having the 70" is such a total immersive experience, everything else looks ridiculous in comparison. You sit 8' from a 70" television, it's just like being in the movie theater.

I think I am destined for a projector :weights:

if you have a big ass living room or watching area, even a 70 inch can be to small if you set fucken 30 feet away. lol

see i had the opposite experience as you did. i had a 65 inch in Raleigh. we sat about 10 feet away from it and it was way way to much for normal tv viewing like the news or a tv show etc..

the only time we liked it was when watching movies.

I know bro... but not right now. I used to be a hi-fi enthusiast. DCM speakers, Adcom pre-amplifier and power-amplifier, etc. Real audiophile stuff, all American made... I haven't got back into it with the home theater side of things yet. That's the next step. Maybe a Martin Logan speaker set.. yes, I can dream..

I don't like the idea of a screen taking over a room

see, now martin logan is way to far over the top. way way to expensive. you should hear my polks bro. amazing sound. i can hear peoples noses whistling from a booger on a tv show or movie.

you dont have to go crazy expensive to enjoy the sound of movies or music. but that sony 5.1 wont cut it!
