Too much snow was still there in both Mt. Lassen and Crater Lake National Parks. We couldn't hit even a quarter of either park because a lot of the roads were still closed due to snow. Need to come in August next time....
Usually you can hike down to Crater Lake and take a boat tour on the lake - it is a must do because the lake water is so clear and you can see down over 100 feet. But the road was closed due to snow and some rock slides, so we couldn't do that.

Yeah bro, so many amazing places to see. Going to try snowshoeing this winter. I saw a lot of people with snowshoes and ski poles just taking off on snowed out trails at Crater Lake and we were just standing around wishing we had some...lol...Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postlove it bro, beautiful.
got to get out there and see it for myself.
BTW, I wouldn't do these parks in the West before late July or August - lesson learned this time. Most of the park is at elevation (5000-6000 ft) and the snow just doesn't melt until late July. Much of roads in the park were still closed and we missed a lot of the best areas. I especially wanted to see the parts of Mt. Lassen Park that had volcanic activity still present but we couldn't get to them.
