Yeah, I've been up to Seattle and spent a short trip to the Olympic Peninsula, but certainly not enough time to do it justice. Olympic National Park is fantastic.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View PostWest coast really is amazing.
Ever been up into Washington state scrum? Beautiful up there.
Another place that everyone I know recommends as a must-see are the San Juan Islands - need to get there sometime.

Yeah, it is amazing how big the state of California is. I once drove from Bakersfield to San Fransisco straight and the freeway went on and on and on. This was 25 years ago in the days before the internet and google maps on smartphones, so I just had my Rand-McNally folded up in the seat next to me and I would look at it every half an hour wondering if I would ever get there. :rofl:Originally posted by BEAST View PostAmazing scenery. Where I live is minutes from 101 fwy (so cal part of it) I can take 101 from my house and drive to redwoods straight up. It'll take a while of course. :D

San Francisco has a microclimate all of its own. You NEVER go to San Francisco without a jacket or a sweatshirt. When the fog rolls in, it gets really chilly. Very different from the rest of the Bay Area, especially silicon valley which can get very hot.
