  • Any boxing fans??

I'm not into boxing! I'll watch it on HBO from time to time but I don't really know who is who. My buddy is fighting James Kirkland next week in Vegas on the undercard of Amir Khan vs Zab Judah. So, my buddy that is fighting is trying to tell me that Kirkland is a top ten ranked boxer and he is telling me that he is getting paid $15,000 even if he loses. That seams like a lot of money to me. Anyone know if Kirkland is a top fighter and if that payout seams right?

That purse sounds about right. Kirkland had his first loss in 28 fights a couple of fights ago so your buddy is being used as a stepping stone.

Yeah, I figured he was just being thrown in there to help Kirkland get things back on track. He was just asked to take the fight about a week ago. And they fight next weekend. But $15,000 for one night of get punched on is pretty decent!! We will see how things go.

Former junior middleweight contender James Kirkland continues his comeback from his shocking first-round TKO loss to Nobuhiro Ashida in April with a scheduled eight-round bout against Alexis Hloros. Kirkland (28-1, 25 KOs), a 27-year-old Austin native, scored a first-round KO of Dennis Sharpe last month. Hloros (15-3-2, 11 KOs) is a 32-year-old club fighter from Michigan.

I was a boxing fan as a little kid when this monster was fighting.

nobody today has 1% of his ability in his prime.

key word in my post was prime.

it was like Ronnie going on stage without even dieting for a fight. tyson didnt even take it serious.

Cus was dead by the Douglas fight. and parden my french but that dumb nigger Don King had already began his mental destruction of tyson.

                    HAha

I never said that. He was a freak no doubt. Everyone talks about prime this prime that. If he hadn't of lost to Douglas he would probably still be considered "in his prime" up until the holyfield fight. He had another 8 wins after douglas.

Yea but none of those wins had the same savagery of his prime fights.

Yeah, that's my buddy Alex. I'm excited for him. He says that he just wants to go the distance but i think he might do pretty well. We shall see.

And I with Bouncer about Tyson. I remember always ordering his fights on pay-per-view. Tyson fights and Wrestlemania....lol
