  • Anybody have a Kindle?

My wife has had one for quite a while and I finally downloaded a book on to it to read.

Man, I am hooked! This thing is awesome!! I am reading this book on evolution and I really like footnotes that are hotlinked to the reference section at the end of the book.

Also, the clarity of the screen is amazing. I downloaded the complete works of Shakespeare, Dickens and Mark Twain on to it. Looks like I need to get one of my own - my wife is getting tired of me monopolizing it!

Sana has one and loves it.

I don't read either way but it seems to me there is something cooler/ more romantic about a real book, the smell etc. Can't even have an impressive home library on a damn kindle.

I have a Kindle and I love it. There's a new one out right now that's $114 and it has "special offers" every so often. I've heard they aren't a bit distracting or annoying and actually very good offers!

My brother used to always say "I never want a Kindle because I love books." He now has a Kindle and loves it. The clarity is so nice and easier to hold, etc.

Wife has a Nook, it's fun and convenient for travel but when I'm home I prefer a proper book.

Yeah, I have a library of about 3500 physical books. I built a room in my house with floor-to-ceiling shelving just to accommodate them. But other than large books like encyclopedias or books with lots of color illustrations, I am wondering if I will buy too many more physical books.

You've got to move with the times, baby.... I am a romantic too with physical books and all, but I've got to admit, the Kindle is damn convenient.

i honestly love the nostalgia of books. i have so many from high school (which seems like eons ago) that bring back memories. i have used the sony e-reader and the kindle and i've taken a look at the nook. they're all great for travel and such but i think i'll stick to ink and paper.
