Currently reading - Falling Leaves: The True Story of an Unwanted Chinese Daughter.
I read the Amazon summaries. Sounds grim... I have a hard time reading stuff like that. How do you like it?
By the way, have you tried checking out stuff for the Kindle from your local public library? My library here has a Kindle loan program. I can just check out digital titles and download to my Kindle - the file expires after the loan period. Works pretty well, although there is always a wait list for the books.
I'm not quite far enough in to the book to really form an opinion yet. It's setting up all the family history, first.
I know my local library does lend Kindle books, but I haven't tried it.
I also have Amazon Prime, and you can borrow books through their new program, also. I'll probably give that a shot after I read the couple I purchased, but haven't read yet.
I'm pretty emotional that way. Have a hard time reading emotional books or watching those kinds of movies without getting affected. Not ashamed to admit I had tears running down my face watching Schindler's List in the theater. I had a hard time with Bridge to Terabithia lol...... I can't believe it was assigned as a reading choice for my son's class. Either kids these days are emotionally very mature, or I am just a wuss. My son's so dreamy and has not matured at all emotionally, there's no way that book would have registered with him. I am glad he picked a Harry Potter book instead.. lol.
By the way, just borrowed "The Player of Games" by Iain Banks for Kindle from my library - looking forward to reading it. It was on some best science fiction lists for books in the last few years.
I haven't read Bridge to Terabithia, but the movie is heart breaking. It's such a good movie.....until :bawl:. I just want it to be a good ol' Disney movie!
I'm not familiar with that book. I really don't like science fiction very much.

Have you read The Hunger Games? I enjoyed those.
Hunger games: 1 is good, 2 is ok,and 3 is a shitfest. Wish I stopped after I was finished with 1.
