That light is the best of the best for it's intended purpose though. And if someone did need something they could trust their life to that would be the logical choice.

on a serious note just last night a guy got caught robbing houses in my comunity the lil bastard was going inside the house while people were sleeping. he went in one of my neighbors house.

Now sure we all say we would shoot him but thats just nutz unless he has a weapon then ya hes dead but the strobe on that light will fuck his eyes up so bad he cant run he cant fight he cant do anything. it also lets me see him and if he has a weapon.

I could probably get that light for 550 or so ( gonna check later ) and to me thats worth it not sure if I would spend any more but I will wait for the model with out the IR light

you think the non IR version will be alot cheaper? you sure they will even make one? Or will they make a regular lazer on there like the X400?

They had a prototype of the other model at SHOT Show this year, I never got a firm date for the release though.

No laser, no IR should be about $150 cheaper.

I would mount a surefire tac flashlight on there before I spent that much on a light. IR, adjustable beam, etc..too many bells and whistles for HD.

Ya I agree if it was on my AR or others. But I need something small as it's going on a 14" benelli M4. I'm also a weirdo I can't mount a light off to the side I need it on bottom of rail. I think I have a slight case of ADD or something. A giant tac light would cover the in tire rail. I also like the strobe idea. Look at 1 sometime and you will understand

Strobe is great. I had an insight WX 150 for my handgun, but decided I like just having a separate flashlight. I don't train enough with a tac light to consider it a viable option for myself. The strobe function was insane, I tried it on myself when I received the light and I couldn't see correctly for about an hour.

I already replaced the forend with a surefire M80 rail
surefire dont make a handgaurd with light attachment like they do for the M1S90
