I'm sure this has been debated on this forum before but I would like to hear thoughts,opinions,etc.. on this. Strange shit just happened to me. Went out with a very old friend of mine whom I have not seen in a very long time. We dated the same girl back in school. When her name was brought up he told me that I had gotten this girl pregnant and she went to Florida and had an abortion ( Her mother lived in Florida ) and then came back to Ky and just never told anyone. My friend dated this girl after I did and during their relationship she revealed her secret to him. Said there was a lot of pressure from her parents, it was gonna mess up her college future and would be the best thing for everyone. This has been on my mind very heavy the last few days this girl is still around and I bump into her every now and then. Then I seen this picture on my facebook page and really fucked with my head. I mean thats a human being inside that body. Had she not did this I would have a son or daughter. A real person with a personality and a life. IMO abortion is murder period. If the person does not want the child give it up for adoption or if a lady is pregnant because she was raped then atleast give it to someone not abortion. Their are people out there that can't have children that would provide a good loving home for this child. I can't help but wonder what this person ( My child ) would have been, what he/she would have looked like, done with their life. And now when I see this girl now that I know I mean wow Idk even know what to think now. So you people think abortion is right/wrong?

Dago, this is a pretty emotional subject. I see where you are coming from and I am sorry for your experience. I am not sure I care too much for it either, but at the end of the day, it's the woman's freedom of choice and there's not too much you can do about it. Best to keep abortion legal, otherwise it will be driven to the back alleys and nothing good will come out of that.

It's real easy for people to say "if you don't want the child, then just give it up." Part of having a child is being pregnant for 40 weeks. That's a pretty major ordeal. Usually these women aren't just unprepared to have a child in their lives, they're also unprepared to be pregnant for 10 months. It takes a major toll on your life physically, emotionally, financially, etc. I am NOT saying I am for or against it, I'm just adding this because people often overlook it.

I know it's an emotional topic, and ultimately it IS a woman's decision to follow through with the pregnancy or not. But Bouncer said it perfect - until you've been in each individual's predicament, you really shouldn't judge.

I am fairly certian it is true I mean everything we talked about adds up. We were together and then all of the sudden she had to go to Florida? Then a month later she is back home again just saying she missed me and was home sick for Ky and friends/family. Not to mention I could contact her anytime I want she lives and works 20 minutes from where I live. My friend would never make up some wild story like this we go back to middle school. I'm not judging her in any way she was only a teenager. I was just speaking in general on the subject of abortion I had never given it much thought until now. When a child is concieved half that child was me I mean what about the fathers rights? Just because I'm not carrying it does that mean I have no say in this? Shouldn't I have atleast been made aware of the situation? I have been thinking about just calling her and asking why? But something is telling me thats the wrong thing to do there is nothing can be done about it now. Its a lil creepy to know that she has known all these years and I have been in the dark. The part bugging me the most is wondering like I said what this person the child would have looked like,done with their life and so on. Its a fucked up deal all the way around.

You're right, half the child is you. But unfortunately, you don't get a say. I'm not saying it's fair, but that is the way it is. I've know two men who's partners have had abortions against their wishes. Begged to let them raise the baby, etc. It's sad.

I think if you really want answers, you should ask. Why is it the "wrong" thing to do? She wouldn't tell you, but told one of your friends? Uh uh, that part would do it for me.
