You are already more regulated than the British Empire who's regulation you fought against for the establishment of freedom. What was the essence of the US has been stealth stripped away, this guy speaks from the heart with reason and wisdom. He's right the founding fathers would be ashamed of the US today.

Actually, Deca is just making a joke. Ron Paul is for less government in every way, so he is called Mr. No or something like that.

But anyway, I like a lot of Paul's positions but don't care for two. His quest for less government is extreme, including doing away with most government regulatory agencies. I can't believe that any sane person would think that the EPA has not done a lot of good for the environment and that the NHTSA has done well for improving vehicular safety. Surely, nobody would argue that the country would have been better off without these agencies.

Also, I don't like his lukewarm support of evolution. There is overwhelming evidence for evolution and as a doctor, it is particularly jarring to hear this from him.

I have been a big Ron Paul supporter for a while now. Mr Incred., you'd be disgusted with how Ron Paul is treated by the media here. He is the only presidential candidate and member of congress that does not take any contribution from special interest groups. Therefore the major media outlets completely ignore him. He has been in the top 3 in the polls for months, but during the debates he is given the least amount of time to speak out of ALL the candidates.

It really is sick. You are right, the Revolutionary War was about regaining liberties, but people in this country today are looking for handouts. Personal responsibility has been lost on everyone and we are going to hell in a hand basket quick.

Here is just an example of how the media tries to cut Ron Paul out of the picture:

Scrum. I agree that there needs to be SOME government oversight. For example, the FAA I would like to stay with air traffic control. But honestly, the FDA and USDA are completely controlled by lobbyists and special interest groups. Do you really think these organizations do a better job than a private organization would?

As far as his views on evolution, that's the beauty of his position on education. He doesn't think it's the federal government's place to be mandating cirriculum. He believes schools should be run by the communities. (parents, teachers, etc.) So even if it isn't his personal belief, he will never push that on anyone else. If the parents come together and decide they want evolution taught heavily, thats how it will be done.

Deca, here are two quotes about our housing markets made before the huge market decline. You decide which guy you would like running our economy:

                              • Ron Paul September 10, 2003: "Like all artificially-created bubbles, the boom in housing prices cannot last forever. When house prices fall, homeowners will experience difficulty, as their equity is wiped out. Furthermore, the holders of the mortgage debt will also have a loss. These losses will be greater than they would have otherwise been had government policy not actively encouraged over-investment in housing."

                              • Herman Cain August 17, 2005: “Coverage of the Bush economy reads like a collection of Democratic Party press releases, calling a strong economy everything from struggling to volatile or dicey.... That kind of ignorance makes homeowners fear that their most expensive possession could turn worthless overnight. That won’t happen.”
