One month after being detained for immigration issues, Victor Martinez appeared in front of a judge today to determine if he would be allowed to post bail and get out from behind bars until his next hearing. Martinez was denied the opportunity to post bail and he remains in custody. As of now, he will remain in mandatory detention without bail until his next court appearance scheduled for January 6, 2012.

Martinez' attorneys have filed for a parole request that could free the Arnold Classic Europe Champion until the next trial, however it is uncertain whether it will be granted.

Sometimes there are mistakes in uk legal system but generally it's pretty fair and if you have no money you get a reasonable rep and judges trend to be ok. Yes there were some riots and protests but nothing like the LA riots of the past and the protests are nothing like as widespread as the occupy protests in the US, your citizens are far more angry with your government than ours are. The legal system in the US is very ' bought justice' system there have been some epic stinkers such as OJ.

The specifics would be some of the blatent miscarriages of justice of the western world that were widely publicised. The economy here is struggling but theres les unemployed as a percentage than the US and the US strategy for dealing with the recession followed that set out by the UK. You were just in a deeper hole to start with than you knew. If I wanted to live in the US I could but I prefer to holiday there and live here. One thing we do share as a problem offs the tax evasion the big companies seem to manage, but again its much worse in the US
