  • Home audio options

I never took time or money to invest while I was renting, but now yhay I bought a house I plan on slowly setting up a decent in wall and ceiling speaker system.

What are options for an out of view subwoofer?

Our living/dining/kitchen area is a large open floor plan. No tv cabinet or stand. All of the equipment will be located in the master closet via infrared extenders (where the cable box and blu ray are now).

Bose sucks and I obviously need to be more specific (dna), lol.

Are there subs that are in wall or maybe even slim and flat for under couch or that look like furniture?

I've spent zero time researching. Just seeing if a yone has experience or ideas.

Yes i have seen in wall subs but I can not comment on them. they do look like it would be cool but I had a perfect place for my sub so never really thought of it.

In wall and in ceiling speakers go with either Boston Acoustics or Polk Audio. they make many models for in wall and they are always reviewed very well.

As far as "in wall sub". best setup would be a dual sub system situated in both corners of the room on the same wall the tv is located. an in wall sub will not sound anything near as good as a sub placed in an open environment where the low frequency can fully escape and not rattle around inside a wall. you would be making a mistake with an in wall, spend twice the money and be disappointed with the result.

this is my sub, i only have 1 but it can knock glasses off the table if you set it to loud. Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX Powered Subwoofer

whatever you do dont go with fucken klipsh. fucken horn speakers everything sounds like a god damn trumpet even vioce dialog. i had klipsch for a month before i sold the whole lot on ebay and bought Polk Audio, Polks sound like fucken angels bro. clear and crisp at the loudest of levels in either music or home theater.
