FB, speaking of 4th grade books, I've been getting a kick of of reading the books that have been assigned to my son who is in 6th grade now. Two particular ones:

    1. The Giver by Lois Lowry
Amazon.com: The Giver (illustrated; gift edition) (9780547424774): Lois Lowry: Books

    2. City of Ember
Amazon.com: The City of Ember (Books of Ember) (9780385736282): Jeanne DuPrau: Books

I thought both were excellently written and very accessible for adults.

The Giver is a book loved by all ages, no doubt. My almost 15 year old really likes it, too. I'm not familiar with the other one.

My second grader is reading another of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books - those are cute!

Yeah, check out City of Ember. It is very very good. Also dystopian fiction, like The Giver.

Maybe if you read a page or two in your life, you'd have some input!

I'll keep looking. I don't really read stuff like that.
