AT&T U-Verse?

Anyone have this as their TV and Internet provider?

This is one of the options out in Chicago along with Comcast and the normal satellite providers.

We have comcast now and one thing I think is lame is that the guide is not 16:9 HD. Looks like something from 1998. AT&T guide is a proper guide like Directv, fios, dish etc..

At&t U-verse seems to have all the channels I have with comcast and they are a bit cheaper. SO just wondering if anyone has them and if they are any good?

I pay about 200 a month for u verse. Very happy with it.

It is the closest thing to fios. Fiber to the curb as opposed to fiber to the home with fios. Either way its better than cable in every possible way.

I have been wanting that for about a year now. they just dont offer it in my area. So I finnaly went with direct TV over comcast. very glad i did

Internet is slow. TV is good. Older homes have a lot of problems getting everything sync up if the wiring is archaic.

I can only say that typical internet work seems normal to me, and my stepson doesn't complain about online game play....

you have the option to pick from 3mbps up to 25mbps.

25mbps is what we have with comcast and i wouldnt call my internet slow by any means.

Slow in as I doubt you will ever see those numbers unless your house is exactly beside the curb.

I have a friend that does installs and I know a few people that have the service. They all wish that they had kept their cable internet service.
Most people won't care, but they download a lot.

was just looking at a forum with uverse users, they were all saying that the max you will see from uverse is around 15-18 mbps and that you get the 15mbps even if you pay for 3mbps in the chicago area. lol. 15mbps is still fine for me. still fast enough to download movies, play games, browse net without issue.

i have 25mbps right now but really its just bragging rights. you simply dont ever use that speed.

Thats crazy, then it is nothing like what they claim in their marketing as far as fiber optics to the curb. If that was the case there would be no complaints about internet speed. Fios offers 150 meg for home users here

What can you do with 150 meg though.

I do all kinds of shit with my Internet, HD torrents, gaming, etc... And it couldn't be any faster because my Internet is much higher then the max at which the torrents will download (about 2mbps) and is needed for gaming again about 2 Mbps.

It's a bit like the max speed on your car. Never use it, just brag about it.
