What could anyone use it for?

150? Other than someone running a business from home that is insanely download intensive...I have no idea. 15 meg isn't that difficult to max if you consistently download, play online, stream videos and have multiple users taxing the home network simultaneously. That will suck the bandwidth right up. Again, the minority of subscribers.

B, the deals they run make their pricing competitive, but don't their prices jump enormously when the 6 or 12 month promo period ends?

They jump but still less then my current Comcast. I pay $150 a month for tv and Internet. Same channels and Internet with uverse after the promo is $120

my cell is my phone. fuck home phone.

package for tv is all the channels except the movie channels (any movies i want to watch i download) plus dvr service. think the tv package is called u300. internet will be the "max plus" which is "up to 18mbps" which i am told is usually around 15mbps.

so we have had U-verse for a little over 2 weeks now. really like it. the guide, features and functions are much more advanced then what we had with comcast. the multi room wireless dvr system is bad ass. the main box has a 500gb hard drive and quad tuners so you can record 3 other shows while watching something live etc..

picture quality is about the same as what we had with comcast which was always pretty good.

internet is a constant 18mbps. with comcast we had 25mbps but that is only more on paper. in real world use you never notice the difference. websites load instantly and torrents sites usually cap the download speeds at around 1.5mbps so you never even come close to reaching the max of 18mbps that we have.

installation was pretty easy, we are like .25 miles from the at&t fiber hub or whatever they call it so we lucked out with perfect distance.

I just got another email from AT&T about their u verse promotion and they give you 250 gig of Internet a month. What do you think monthly average data usage for a home? Since my Internet is on 24/7.

comcast is 250 gig a month also.

i generally used 50-60 gigs a month even with torrents etc..

you will never use 250 gigs a month.
