  • support the little guy?

Pretty sad, when you try to use your local marine parts dealer for simple stuff... I.E. Fuel filter.....about 8 dollars on line... local guy... 13 dollars EXACT SAME PART # BRAND ECT..........and then they wanna get upset because ya dont do business with them anymore? Go figure... I'd rather support the local guy... but I'm not gonna if I feel like Im getting robbed...

I got 2 engines on the back of the boat so everything is doubled for maint costs... fuel, oil, & inline fuel filters, lower unit oil, motor oil, spark plugs running(trim tabs).... ect. not including oils ... local guy... $225 bucks and wait a few days for some stuff to come in so add another half tank of gas to the F250 to go down there again...another $100 for both trips...

On line free shipping $145.... no fucking brainer:pissed:

yeah bro i struggle with this all the time whether it be walmart or local coffee shop etc. the think is i really want to help the local guy but the reality is your only subsidizing you own income to do so (instead of theres). you might as well pay less for it.

It is tough, but I usually have to go with what's best for me. The local guy is small, can't buy in bulk, so doesn't get as good of a price. But I'm never going to choose to spend $50-$100 more just because he's a nice guy. UNLESS, he has something I need/want right NOW, as opposed to waiting for shipping, etc.

Like going down to the Keys and spending $5 a gallon of gas because you can fill up in the water! :D
