We ended up going to a private place to pick out the basement cabinetry. Should have it installed in the next couple weeks. I'll shoot a few pics.

home depot is cool if you want some tile in your bath room or something but a kitchen remodle like you are doin. there is much better places. you can find granite wholesale places, specialized cabnet makers, ect

I would never expect hd to have much in terms of selection or competitively priced material. We are currently getting 500sq ft of hardwood put in the living room and hd wanted nearly 2x as much for the same hardwood. They wanted $7sq ft. I got it for $3.60 at a non franchise flooring specialist. I use hd and lowes for ideas and buy elsewhere.

Agree with rocket. Find a countertop wholesaler in the area youre buying. Then after you have the measurements from whoever is installing, go pick out color. Then install guys pickup from the wholesaler. It should yield a lower price and much larger selection.

We noticed lowes to be what youre suggesting of home depot. Bunch of slackers that dont know jack shit.
