We're thinking about taking a trip out there this year. It looks beautiful. Has anyone been?

I was there two years ago for snowboarding and it is beautiful. You can also hang out on the Nevada side and gamble. :D

Do you think there is a "better" time to go? Like fall, or winter as opposed to summer?

never flew into reno before but I dont think big planes can land there, lol you could fly into Sacramento drive right by me say hi and get to Tahoe is 1.5 hours.

there is no real snow there now so it would be a waste I would go in winter for sure if you like sking snowboarding ect. summer if you have a boat the lake is top notch for sure very clean

I'm not going to go NOW, and I don't know if I want to go when there is snow or not. I'm not going for anything particular - such as skiing, snowboarding, etc. It just looks pretty, I've never been, and I want to go.

LOL @ "if you have a boat" :retard: Yes, we have a boat, but I don't think we'll be bringing it with us from Florida. :P We go to the Keys in the summer, so I'm wondering if I should wait for fall or winter to go to Tahoe.

It is pretty all seasons that is true but summer you would want a boat. not needed but alot better. you can rent a house on the lake thats pretty pimp and usally some cool partys going on in summer.

I knew you were not gonna bring your boat dumb ass I ment you would want to rent one. Just make sure you come say hi. tell you BF you have to go to the store and get sunscreen, lol

Only problem, is that Rocket is 100mi the opposite direction of Reno.

Been to Tahoe dozens of times (Live less than 2 hours away). My uncle has a cabin so we're up that way a couple/few times a year. Rocket is right we haven't had rain (so tahoe/reno hasn't had much snow).

Most of the larger ski resorts are open utilizing artificial snow and what they have got from real snow.

I recommend the HYATT for lodging during the winter time, and if you guys opt to go in the Summer time stay at one of the casinos.

Not my top recommendation for travel destinations, but decent to visit any day of the year.

It's not like a dream destination or anything. I just like to travel, have been a decent amount of places, and don't want to leave the little guys out. :)

I'm looking at this place -

Timber Cove Inn: Experience a Charming Sonoma Coast Hotel near Downtown Jenner

Norcal coast is superb. Good choice. Since you are that close, DO NOT miss going to the California Redwoods. It will be a life changing experience.
