What are your thoughts on this case?

I feel like we don't know the whole story but I definitely feel that if you shoot and kill someone that you are following around you should definitely be arrested.

It would be a different story if this kid had broken into the guys house, but that's not what happened, this guy was following the kid around. The kid probably got pissed and they got into a fight. The fact that the guy didn't shoot the kid in the leg etc.. and instead shot him in the chest says it all to me.

i am all for killing someone who tries to break into your house etc..

but when you follow someone around and piss them off you should not be allowed in any sense to then shoot and kill them.

the guy clearly admitted that he was following the kid around. the guy is a wannabe texas ranger and was looking to be a hero.

makes florida look like a true hillbilly state.

Nobody deserves to die like this, least of all a young man with his entire life ahead of him. Even cops have a hard time policing their itchy trigger fingers, and when these wannabe tough guys get their hands in guns, it's hardly surprising that things end in tragedy.

Well I have thoughts on this, 1st off I carry a 45 concealed Smith & Wesson 1911 every day everywhere I can legally. Unfortunately for Mr Zimmerman if it was up to the public right now he would be hanging from a tree limb from the neck. I am a believer in the law, it isn't perfect but I think it is the best system I know of. It doesn't look good for Zimmerman, his dad is a retired judge so their might be some favoritism on the part of the police. What I do know is it takes time to build a case against someone. If you are going to arrest someone you can only hold them so long before they have to be charged or let go. If you do charge them with a crime then you have to be sure that you can prove it in court, if you can't they walk. I think legally they have to build a case against Zimmerman if indeed he is guilty . This may take some time considering the hysteria involved and the lynch mobb that is calling for his head without do process of the law. Now it appears that he hunted this kid down and racially profiled him as a ad guy because he fit the stereotype. I do not believe the stand your ground law applies here because it is clear he pursued Martin. I find it hard to believe the using deadly force on this kid was nessesary but then I wasn't there. As a gun owner and someone the carries a large capasity firearm I couldn't imagine discharging it on an unarmed person that I pursued and initiated a confrontation. That is a total contradiction of being a responsible gun owner. I will pay close attention to this as it unfolds in the legal system

I agree and I also carry.

We will never get the true story now. I do not think race was an issue, weird wannabe cop with an ego and most likely getting punded on by a kid may have been an issue.

Sad story, but we will never know the truth.

My thoughts are just that thoughts. every thing we hear...are half thruths no doubt. based on whats supposed to be known.... he fucked up following the kid after being told not too..period. That kid didnt need to die cause he wanted to play neighbor hood hero wanna be cop. Sounds like the kid handled his business after being trailed...un fortunatly for him...guns will beat a badass everytime. I dont care how trained a person is.

On the other hand, I carry daily as well..but I will always avoid confrontation whenever possiable. having said that.. at the same time...I will stand on my own feet and never cower to someone. I am smart enough most of the time not to put my self into a position where I may have to confront someone. Two times I have had to "tell" I was carrying..both times...they tucked tail and departed end of coonfrontation..

So, kid didnt need to die....guy imo was right to defend himself (IF) he really thought he was gonna die while getting that ass beat...BUT he should be held responsible if 911 call is true about being told not to follow him and then he did anyway...if this is true..he fucked up because HE CAUSED the confrontation.if he caused the confrontation..he should be held accountable.

Now the thing that pissed me off about the whole matter is the race card being played...thats the fucking bullshit that pisses me off! The race card shit has to stop PERIOD!

no doubt about it mr. I and i am well aware of media bs.

BUT by his own admission he followed the black guy. the black guy was not doing anything wrong in terms of damaging property of breaking into anyone's home etc..

that guy was a wannabe texas ranger and was dead set on being a hero.

So did the black guy have a right to put a beatdown on the mexican jew?

he had a right to ask the guy why he was following him and who knows how the mexican jew responded. bottom line they got into a fight. if you follow someone you are instigating a fight, you should not then be allowed to shoot and kill someone after you were following them. he the mexican jew lost the fight thats to bad, he should not have been following him like some creeper.

Well to be honest let me ask you this. If your walking somewhere at night and you realize the someone is following or stalking you and they don't appear to be a cop how would you react? Think about that, your being pursued for reasons you don't know, are you about to be mugged or raped. If you are being stalked by someone and you feel your life is threatened when exactly do you have a right to defend yourself. Do you have to be hit before you can strike back? I'm just being hypothetical here, if someone is stalking me on the street, in a park, on a bike path after dark and my guard is up & I feel I am in danger that something is about to go down! Put yourself in that scenario and then ask yourself if he had a right to give his stalker a beatdown.im not saying that this is what even happened but here we are playing arm chair quarterback after the fact without all the information and filling in the grey areas with speculation. I think if someone is stalking me in the dark I am going to position myself to hold the upper hand and not wait to become a victim, but that just me
