My windows phone has visual voicemail, no need to do the google voice workaround. Is it that hard to press and hold 1 and listen to VM? I get about 3 VM a week, so it wouldn't be a big deal for me. Just a convenience that people now can't live without.

Having trouble configuring Google Voice, it keeps erroring out in the configuration process. I d/l'ed and installed ATT Visual Voicemail app, seems to work fine but does not do voice to text. Which is fine for now. I'll worry about the Google Voice later.

It keeps giving me an authentication error, not a big deal, I didn't have voice to text on 3GS either, so I pretty much have the same VM functionality as I used to. BTW, bro, this is me you are talking to, not some tech-averse rube. I'll figure it out when I get home this evening.
Also, installed remotecontrol for earphones app, now have full control of earphones, skip track, volume up/down, etc. etc. Awesome!

I don't know what the hell Beats by Dr Dre is or does, but this phone makes even the sorry iPhone earbuds sound fantastic. Don't think the 3GS sounded even remotely as good, especially given that pretty much entire music library consists of CD rips at about 128kbps VBR.

The Beats system seems to have really made a big difference in mobile devices audio systems. I've heard a couple laptops with it and they sound great compared to past and other current laptops.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER

Wonder what they've done to make such a significant change.

Should be ok I think bro... I didn't sync email with Outlook as it is against my work IT policy to allow work email on personal phones. I did sync Outlook calendar, contacts and notes and it went flawlessly. I used the HTC Sync Manager for that, worked just like iTunes. It had an option to sync mail as well, I just unchecked it.Originally posted by Turbo3000 View PostScrum, how easy was your outlook email sync? Just started using outlook email for school, so I have never used it on an android phone.
Can't wait to get back on the HTC train in 2 months.

Turbo, just to be clear, I an only doing a passive sync with Outlook. I didn't set up an exchange server or anything. So any new appointments that I get in Outlook are not automatically pushed to my phone... I need to sync every day. In your case you should just set up an exchange server on your phone so that you get real time email, etc pushed to your phone. I am sure your school would be fine with it. My work does not allow it unless it is an IT-issued phone and I already have a Blackberry for that.

Well fuck, I cracked my phone screen today....first time ever messing up a smartphone.
I know you don't switch like me B, so are you keeping the One X for 2 years? I think I will use my October upgrade and get the One X (even if something with better specs is out, trying to be cheap as possible), and due to school I must keep it for 2 years basically. No extra money laying around to semi flip phones every 6 months. Sometimes the deal works in my favor, and a few times I pay, but I have been doing a 4-6 month flip for years. Time to end the sickness.
I think the One X would serve me good for 2 years.

Do you have an iPhone now? And how are you getting new phones every 4-6 months without paying a ton?
