  • Dog sick again....

    It is breaking my heart.

Two weeks ago he was having blood in his vomit and acting very lethargic. We took him to the vet that Sunday morning and they kept him until late Monday. They said his GI tract was inflamed due to grass/twigs/etc that he ingested. He never eats grass, but he had gotten some at the dog park prior to that Sunday, not a large amount either. No medication at doc, just a small amount of sub q fluid and a clear abdominal x-ray.

Today, wake up to the same looking bloody vomit at 7am. No grass was ingested in the past 2 weeks, he is always on leash and we only went to the dog park once. He is still drinking water and we haven't had any bloody vomit since.

Currently observing him and hoping he gets better or it is back to the vet tonight/tomorrow morning depending on what happens.

Poor buddy just wants to feel better.

    HATE THIS SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

        Thanks for the well wishes.

Last two weeks his was normal. Don't see any recalls on his food and hope my bag isn't contaminated.

You don't give him anything from China, right? There's all kinds of treats and stuff that are causing dogs problems.

Sorry to hear that. Thankfully dogs are very resilient. Proper vet care and time, things should be alright. Terrible to go through for sure. You just want him to feel better and he just wants to make you happy.

That's a relative term these days. Blue Buffalo was/is considered one of the 'good' foods (4 star) and they had issues in the not so distant past.

Healthwise. I switch up between the chicken and lamb. It's not the absolute best (5 star) but it is a good quality (4 star). About $1/lb.

I agree. The brand I am using now Innova was bought by P&G a couple years ago.

I have been through most of the 4/5 star boutique foods and he is still an odd eater.

I may just have to start taking the time and prepare him raw/fresh food.

I use Kirkland signature lamb and Rice.

                          Costco.com: KS_PetFood_AdultDogChicken

has been good over the years for my guys. maybe not the most premium of priemium but its pretty damn good and its 40lbs for $35

I've actually heard a lot of people with big dogs say they love Kirkland food. I just try to be extra cautious with mine because he's so little and I do NOT want him to be fat!
