    Every single person on the planet had their own unique DNA, right?

    On average as a % how much closer in DNA blood parents and their children and two average unrelated people off the street?

    And how much do we differ from a gorilla say

      In humans, we only differ around 0.5-0.1%. it's now thought we differ from gorillas about 1.75%.

        We're only about 50% different than a plant, some think only 18%. Pretty crazy.

                    99.9% of everyone's DNA is the same. The 0.1% that is different are the junk DNA that serve no purpose through millions of years of evolution or more rarely, mutations that creep in. People of course have different alleles, which is what expresses things like pigmentation.

                      So its alleles that carry from mother to baby, what % same are two random people combated to parent and child?

                        its the genetic code that gets passed on. When the codes become translated it turns into a protein, the proteins expressed are what we look like, act, etc...

                        The alleles are the expression of that genetic code. The mommy and daddy's alleles are passed on the child and that's what they're expressing. Mutations and such play a large role, but the biggest role is what genes are expressed. That's what makes us different.
