  • FOOD DRIVE

I know it can't get anymore last minute than this but today is the National Association of Letter Carriers annual food drive. If your mailman hasn't been to your house yet, you can leave a food donation at your mailbox and they will pick it up. The food goes to local food banks and really helps out families in need. Just thought I'd let you guys know in case you weren't aware.

I have no problem giving food to the needy, but a recent picture in the paper really turned me off from donating food. Local church was giving away food to families in "need" and the picture just showed a line of overweight people. Doesn't add up to me. How can you be in need and still be fat? Just like the people that abuse all of the other government handouts (majority).

Back on topic, I wasn't aware of the can drive today. I would have brought some to work for the mail guy and pretended that it really did go to a family in need.

Would be different if most of these people were actually trying to help themselves, but they aren't. Just continuing to rob our tax dollars.

Yeah, its pretty messed up. I actually deliver mail to one of the food banks that gets alot of the food we pick up and you're right,.some of the people I've seen coming out of there with food looked totally capable of working or by no means starving. I don't know how the food banks work, if anyone can just walk in and get food or what, but people will take advantage of others any chance they get. But, there are alot of old people and children that it helps out so I just try to think of them.

And about them being fat...LOL I just said that to my wife last night. I think because they are on a tight budget they buy a lot of shitty food. Hamburger Helper and that boxed stuff that is just packed with sodium and shit.

If you want to give something you can set it out there on Monday. It happens every year. Or you can just add a couple extra cans next year...lol

It's always the Saturday right before mother's day.
