i contacted a guy that was my best and closest friend at one point .. he was family .. my girls called him uncle etc etc

something happened in our lives that either one of us had control over but we just got caught in the middle and had difference of opinions and allot of half truths were spread by a few people .. that was 3 years ago ..

so last week i hit him with a text and asked him if he wanted to get lunch and lets sit and open and bury old wounds .. we are both stubborn people .. him Italian me Scottish .. he got back to me .. we sat down after 3 years of not speaking and talked .. buried and forgave old shit that we should have done from jump ..

you don't come across many people in life that you can trust with your life .. sometimes you never do ..

felt good to get old shit that's been buried out and cleared .. i gained peace of mind and my best friend back .. it was a good day

Always good burying the hatchet with old friends (especially those close enough to you that you can call a "brother"). I had a similar case where a friend of mine, on e of my closests ( a crimey as well). We grew up together pretty much. told people we were related etc etc. Actions and retaliations for certain events on both parts broke up apart. Just saw him a few weeks ago and it was like old times after about 2-3 years as well
