  • Parents and their kids age?

Why after 12 months do you still count in months? after a year they are are year and X number of months. Don't make me do the math it's not nice. I don't tell you I'm 271 months old.

totally true though. i think once kids hit 2 years old, it switches. my son is 11 months. next month he will be 1 year old, then the next month he will be 13 months.

I think it stops after 2 too! My niece is 15 months. It's too much to say a year and 3 months, plus 15 months sounds better. But I wouldn't say 26 months....I'd say a year and 2 months. weird!

I think the reason they count in months up to 2 is because the development is so different month to month. Once they hit 2 it slows down. like a 12 month kid to an 18 month is soooo different.

            I'm 27 & 11 months now, b-day is November 26... LOL

It's funny because before my daughter I thought that was so stupid. She is now almost 2 1/2. It really is important to use the months for about the first year and a half because each month they should be doing a certain something. It's just a gauge parents use.

My son just turned two Sept 30, but prior to that when people would ask how old he was I would say "He'll be 2 in X months rather than Y months old or 1 yr and Y months old.

                      Personal preference I suppose.

if you say your kid is 1 year old when they are 23 months then people will say how advanced your kid is.

my boys are 5 months and four years old. although when we go to restaurants the older one is three so we can get free food. except at the freakin chinese place the other day, they asked how old he was and i said 3. then he yelled, "no daddy, i'm FOUR!"
