To be honest no I havent been hunting. Still eating um up from the freezer. Its fishing season bro, Sept I'll start hunting agian.. but I do believe I got my boat sold tommorow, happy but sad at the same time. Gonna miss the girl, gotta down size. With all the fishing restrictions in place now and as hard as it is to get a good crew together its time to get out of the offshore fishing game. Cheaper to catch a ride now then keeping my own rig any more.

But I am gonna down size and get a lot more versatality out of a new much smaller rig I got my eyes on... I'll post pics up as I build it in the up comming weeks if this sale goes thru on my big one.

how much money would you make doing the charter thing?

Right now the type charters I wass running cost the customers about $1000.00 for a 8 hour trip. Problem is not so many folks have the money to play with to fish anymore. Plus with all the new fishing restrictions in place from our dear goverment...there is a lot of fish we simply cant even fish for anymore. So its not worth being in the game anymore man...Time to cut and run before I loose my ass...

The new litle boat Im gonna get is way smaller, im gonna put some performance pods on the back and also get a mud motor for it, so I will have one boat with two motors I can switch out for different seasons. It wont be no where big enough to go out onto the ocean with. But I will be able to inshore fish and duck hunt with it here and when I travel to Missouri every year and I will start pulling south to florida to duck hunt there as well. Whole new ball game with a lot more stuff to do and virtually no expense to do it!!

I got plenty of buddys with offshore rigs I can catch a seat any time I want one and get offshore just throw um a hundred bucks for gas for the day.

yes if done properly, But IMHO its the commercial fishermen who pay and have the goverment officals in their pockets bro. its all corrupt just like everything else. All about the money. you pay 50,000 dollars for a commercial permit.. you can rape the ocean for your profit.. 10,000 lbs a day but a little guy like me can only catch a couple a day and Im over fishing um...LOL:wack:
