  • ok big guy...calmness......

Big downsize but now I have two worlds to play in. A brand new 23 HP Godevil Long tail and a 2004 G3 1548 welded with a 2005 25 HP yamaha 4 stroke on the back. Yamaha for spring thru fall inshore fishing. The the mud motor for duck deer turkey and hog hunting thru the winter. Best of both worlds and Ill be able to get a lot more use out of it then I have the Key largo for the last couple years. Im gonna miss her, but this opens up a whole lot more doors for fun and adventure with almost no cost for daily operations!

So Bouncer...lol, yep my mind is going 100MPH thinking of the oppertunities and how to rig it. I think for fishing Im going to keep it real simple. A 12 gallon bucket with a pump in it with clips to battery for the bait and a cooler with ice for the fish and drinks. Its easy to throw in and out and no permanent building into the boat, so I can adjust as needed. I'm thinking a push pole to get into the skinny water. I have a nice Lowrance HDS5x that came with it for a fish finder. This will come off during hunting season so as to not rip the transducer off in the shallows while duck hunting. For now I'm planning on a handheld GPS. Also looking into rigging up lights for flounder gigging. In the future I may have a removable poling platform added....

For duck hunting It already has a power plug so I can run a spotlight. I have a winch ordered for the front comming I will mount up and I will build a simple sissor blind that pops up and down for concealment. The blind will be easily removed after season is over for storage. For deer/hog hunting there is plenty of room for two guys with stands ect for a day of hunting. I am in the process of figuring out where and how to install a removable grab bar for running the mudmotor while standing.

This will also allow me to finally use all the prefrence points I have saved up for alligators... this will be a fun new adventure for sure!Bad ass gator hunting now never did it and looking fwd to it next fall!!

I have ordered an outboard motor stand on wheels to support the 25 HP Yamaha and this will allow me to store it inside for security as well as keeping it out of the weather when not in use. As soon as that motor carrier gets here I'll be mounting the longtail to break it in and get some stick time on it. Im hoping that will be next week. I got the longtail galvinized as an option, this way I can run it in the salt as well. This could be quite the set up in the winter to get to some lowtide waterholes past mud pockets the reds are stacked up in trying to warm up with the sun in the shallows.....

The oppertunities are endless with this combination.....now I just have to get it figured out, see whats gonna work ,,,what wont...and make it happen!

          yes thats the mudmotor.

Ill use the boat to access remote islands in the swamp from the river. I normally paddle in with a canoe for a few miles. Now with the mudmotor I can get in and out in 20 min!!

It creates a suction which in turn pushes the boat, then as it moves the prop "floats" and keeps the boat moving..here watch...

gator tail geting pulled out by a mud buddy - YouTube

If ya notice the guy pulling out the stuck one keep digging the prop in deep to creat suction, which gives the prop "bite" then once it gets going it'll float on top and the prop floats and chops the mud to keep going fwd. pretty cool stuff.
