Roy Shaw passed away today. He was a true East End legend the end of an era. I'm sure his reputation will live on.

Yeah Shaw beat Lenny first time out, the 2nd time was all the Guv'nor.

Roy was an intriguing character from his unlicensed boxing to tearing doors off prison cells in Broadmoor!

I near what your saying and its a well versed argument, particularly by lenny. But I don't agreed, with tysons precision and aggression and fitness I don't see lenny touching him. If lenny was so great then he would have boxed queensbury. Its all well saying he could beat all these boxers fighting dirty, but not if they fought dirty too

Its certainly makes a good arguement. As far as the majority of boxers go once the queensbury rules are out they are fucked. But Tyson is an exception. He is a similar sort of animal to the Lenny's and the Roy's of this world. Who knows where he would have been without Gus. Lenny was one hard man, but agagainst an athlete (which he was) Tyson would have the edge, he knew how to street fight too, look at Evander and Mitch Green. I concede - you may be right!

I once worked the door with an older guy about done who as a younger man had worked with lenny. Pour out this way, he was a genuine street fighter, bare knuckle, bit like kimbo slice I guess but much better known in his day in the underground, huge guy as he aged and very strong, I'd say he was kind of like a mix between bob sapp and kimbo before kimbo went mma
