I play in a premier soccer league over the summer. I’ve noticed that my energy level is never consistent for my games. Some games I feel unstoppable and seem to never fatigue. Other games I just feel sluggish and have to sub much more frequently. I can’t seem to pinpoint what causes my energy levels to fluctuate so much. My workouts in the gym seem to always be great and never have this type of issue. Anyone else involved with sports that have this type of problem?? Any suggestions?

Eat the same thing every day of the week at the same time. Nutrition would seem to be the obvious reason but not in my case. Maybe I should try some pre-workout sup before a game??
I'm not a great sleeper but again that always stays the same too.

That's the thing... no changes and my level of play is like night and day.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postso nothing at all is different between 1 game where you will have energy and the next you dont?
maybe hormonal?
Hormonal? Not sure about that one but I'm going to say NO! :D

Ahhhhh! Believe me, that's why I'm posting this because I cannot put a finger on it. My workouts during soccer season are Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. I have soccer games on Tues & Thurs. Usually always train the same body parts during the week and leave legs for the weekends. Maybe it is stress related and I just don’t realize it. I really don’t get stressed too easily but maybe I hang on to more stress then I recognize.
For those that play competitive sports, do you take any sups the day of or before games?

I guess I'm going to chalk it up as stress. Not sure what else it could be. It is so random and does not have a pattern to it. But it's like lifting in the gym when on cycle and then lifting when off.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postis the tuesday game usually better then the thurs game?
i would bet on over training if thursday is the slow day.
