  • Video of DNA lifting

Ok, so here goes. 3 videos of me doing my 2nd exercise of chest. First exercise was incline bench press on the smith, hit a new PR; 245 for 5 reps :weights:
This was recorded Monday July 23. Working out with my brother and having him record.

So basically, what do you guys/girls think and how is my form?

1st working set is 90lbs DB.

2nd working set is 95lbs DB.

    Working Set 2 - YouTube

3rd working set is 95lbs DB. Yes you can see my hairy stomach, so what? Hit complete muscle failure quickly, that is my goal every time I do my last set.

you hold your breath to much
you need to move the weight in a triangle if that makes sence. starting is the bottom you need to get to the tip instead of straight up then in.
the bench is to high of angle for my liking to much shoulders are being used.
last you give up to easy in the last video you could of got that last rep.
mental is huge bro your mind will give up way before your body will.

        Good arm workout DNA. :D

You need to drop the weight down to 70 - 75lbs and isolate your chest. All I saw was you trying to push that weight up instead of working your chest.

If you wanna do a heavy set great do a heavy set. Like you did in the first video do your heavy set in your second set, and drop the weight down to 80 or 75 for your third and fourth sets do 15 reps with perfect form. Keep your chin untucked of your chest, leave your neck nice and loose, bring your shoulders down. (they are kind of pinched up) and Relax!

You don't have to bring the dumbbells to your arm pits that's when you initiate to much shoulder to push the weight up. Idea is origin to insertion. Basically you wanna feel the muscle stretch from your sternum to the humerus and once you feel the maximum stretch push the weight back nice and smooth. Like rocket said you don't have to go so slow just make the movement fluid. And also agreed with rocket about the bench height bring it down a notch.

Oh and thanks for the compliments in your last video. :D

Keep up the good work. :)

          Not bad bro, good strength.

But can you honestly look at me and say you live on chicken, rice, oats, and veggies like you said the other day? Not being a dick, just trying to figure out you and your issue with diet.

Thank you. This is part of my gym. My gym is in a warehouse, this is the free weight part.

Thanks for your input. I was told by a few people not to do the triangle thing because it puts pressure on your shoulders and eliminates tension on your chest.

Didn't even notice myself holding my breath.

As far as the bench height is concerned, that is the lowest it goes. I have never felt pressure on my shoulders, all my upper chest feels it.

Thanks man :) I do one warm up set. that was 70lbs for 10 reps. These 3 were my working sets. I was also warmed up by 5 sets of incline bench on the smith.

Interesting notes you made, will take those into effect. Reason I go slow is control of the weight, and I want to feel the muscle contracting. Just a personal habit I built up over the past 2 years. I don't care about how much weight i am lifting, its about form and stimulation. We build muscle, not lift weight.
