Here is one from the Albuquerque balloon festival. It was taken at 7am, hence they gray sky.

Beast you got to step it up, the pics at the carnival or whatever it is looks like it was taken by a 2 year old. fucken rubbish. you need to read the instruction manual on the fucken cam you got. mofo that last pic is good shit, something you would see in a magazine or something, first pic though is crap. :)

hey scrum, what program do you use to tweak the photos from the t3i? overall, pretty impressive.

ieach person is going to have their own spin on pictures they take and how they approach the scene. i like getting shots from like 10 different angles (top, slightly skewed to the left/right, getting really close to the ground, etc.). you have to take shadows and lighting into consideration constantly. especially when dealing with the outdoors.

Funny out of four pictures scrum posted I only liked the middle one in the first bunch and the rest are just meh. Specially the rabbit one is a complete wash. :D

Bouncer what you don't understand is when I take pictures I separate the subject from the background and try have the focus on them not what's around them. Look at the dog picture again...looks like he is popping out of the picture and same goes for the noah's picture.

Imo there is a time for the complete focus and sharpness (like when you take scenery pictures) but if I'm taking a picture of a person I like to separate them.

I take the same picture a few times with different settings then I play with it for a bit to my liking that's why you see them little dark or light. Except the carousel pictures I didn't play with them much that's why they look little to bright.

Beast, your carosel picture is perfect but the one of your son and a few from earlier with the trains all seem too dark. You lose a lot of the detail that dslrs are designed to pick up. If you're editing pictures on the computer, make sure you are increasing the amount of highlights. Or even just the fill light slightly. Trust me. You will get a much better picture.

Just to provide an example, with scrum's tree pictures, you can see the ridges in the bark. The tree itself is dark but the rest of the picture is all bright. With the picture of your boy, the whole top left just seems to have a random shadow.

You are forgetting that I'm working with an 11 month old. That little rugrat moves none stop I had to take a dozen burst shots to get one good one plus that picture was taken in a tent with no flash. :D
