"The story behind the pic is that the guy had a severe skin tumor on his head that he didn't bother to get treated for religious reasons and because "it didn't hurt". The tumor started digging through layers of tissue and eventually flies started laying eggs in his flesh. The maggots then consumed the tissue that the tumor killed, allowing the tumor to get bigger and dig deeper, creating more dead tissue for more maggots to feed on, and the cycle basically continued until you get the result seen in the pic. Ironically enough, the maggots were probably the reason this guy survived as long as he did since they consumed all the dead tissue that otherwise would have given rise to a meningitis infection."
