Cali bro im not rich but investing $$$ in a reputable artist that will be held accountable for good work is ok with me. a mutual acquaintance to Rocket and I paid $900/hr @ Miami Ink. Just a quick vent about the first shop. it was a referral from a friend supposedly a great artist. but what i fucking hate about some tattoo artists is their attitude like they are the shit and everyone else can cater to their schedule. fuck that.
when the receptionist (with his head covered and face covered) called me back and told me the artist wouldnt be able to start for 2 and a half hours later i flew off the handle. he had a week and doesnt start work till 12p you're telling me you cant get to work one hour earlier to draw the shit up? fuck you.
so based on principle i had to get my deposit. after the initial call i called them back and told the receptionist to not have my artist draw up the design. i did not tell him i was on my way to get my money back. when i got there the receptionist tried telling me to read the fine print that they didnt give back deposits. i told him look at the bold print the appt was 1p not 3 or 3:30 or whatever. the artist stands up and asks if i still wanted it. i told him yeah but not there. he instructed the recept to give me back my deposit i thanked him and walked out.
it was for the best i should have gone to my friend in the first place and it has since been good catching up as we use to be friends.Leave a comment:

Thanks for asking. My appt was roughly 2 weeks ago in the middle of the day. I went home, changed and halfway there I get a call from the shop asking if I could come two hours later (after I had taken the day off and I had a birthday dinner for my sister so I went there, and got my deposit back. The same day (about two weeks ago) I went to my friends shop who's done a lot of work on me and gave him the deposit. He is working on a sketch as we speak. Still greek mythology, but my references have been finalized and he is combining the following (I will post up my forearm or the sketch when its complete). We decided Medusa would be the most suitable and I have wanted that on and off for awhile.

So it will be some combination of the three images or a little different now that ive got him the references im leaving the artwork up to the artist. The entire piece will be black/grey he said he might color the lips OR the eyes but not both. He emailed last night that he is nearly done with the sketch. Cant wait.Leave a comment:
