With the upcoming election, does anyone care to share their views on politics? What are you registered as and what do you believe in?

I'm registered red but I may change this as I have voted liberal the last election as well as recent local elections.

It's tough because I am fiscally conservative, but liberal in (most) all other views other than regulated healthcare only because it is unknown. Kind of like Arnold, but he did a shitty job for Cali as much as I love the guy.

I love it when people talk shit about Obama I tear them up everytime.

Fact he won the nobel peace price they do not hand that away.

He graduated cum laude at harvard law. they def dont hand that away.

Although the bailout was in place before being elected releasing those trauches of money saved us from imploding.

He pulled us out of Iraq which was costly ($$ and American lives)

Only problems I have are idk how this healthcare reform will affect me. I do not believe I should have to pay higher tax percentages because of my income tax bracket I should have to pay the same split as the guy on unemployment. I don't like that Obama swore he would be hands off of marijuana co ops but the dea has raided/eliminated 90% of clubs within the last two years.

Also the debt is out of control. When I was a kid we were in debt 5 trillion and that number has tripled which baffles me.

If a Mormon Mitt Romney gets elected mark my words I'm moving to England with Mr. I.

I am a lifelong Democrat but I can easily see myself voting for an independent or a centrist Republican. The problem I have with the Republican party is the total lack of ideas from them. Aside from a knee-jerk anti-Obama stance on everything, there is no credible description from them on anything worthwhile they are going to do for the three things I look to government to do - 1) fund basic and applied R&D and industrial investment to promote the economy, 2) create an environment so that affordable healthcare is available to all citizens and 3) safeguard civil liberties of the citizens. It is sad and unfortunate that the party of Lincoln has been to reduced to its current state.

That and the fact that I will never vote for a candidate who openly endorses crap like intelligent design. If his abilities of rational and analytical thinking is so poor, I don't think I want him as leader of the free world.

We need a third party. The Republicans are a joke. If there were some moderate centrist candidates like Colin Powell or someone like that, someone who I can respect and who will have a cabinet of technocrats, not good old boys, then I will definitely vote for him/her.

I want this guy to run for President. I don't know if he knows everything but I know that he is smart enough to figure it out. A rare breed in today's world:

He extended the patriot act, he supports the TSA, he has never had a job, he thinks resources should all be pulled together and shared, he buys the shit out of votes, he spoke of change and changed nothing, he supports the Fed Reserve (which will be our demise), he supports the IRS and wants to tax more of the top %, he has avoided having Eric Holder punished for his god awful operation, he has no foreign policy (just apologizes anytime something happens), his health care plan isn't terrible but it needs a lot of work, he tries too hard to be "hip", he learned corruption from the best people in the business (Chi town).

                  I can keep going.

But understand, I don't think Romney is any better. He supports the majority of the above also.

Btw, we aren't out of Iraqi.

Repubs are a joke. A new centrist Reagan type party will emerge eventually. Repubs will lose this election and for sure the next one if Hillary runs. Going to be a long drought for the repubs.

Too many crazies in control of the Republican party. Too far to the right - anti science, too overtly religious... just anti-intellectual. It's has turned into the dumbed down party. Which is unfortunate for our democracy.... we need parties with well thought out positions, even if we don't all agree with them. If they sound like they are from the wrong century, then we've got a problem.

I agree 100%! I voted for Obama but am very disappointed in what's he's done. And the Eric Holder thing is big with me! I was friends with Brian Terry, he was actually the person that made me want to join the Marine Corps!

Never had a job? A state senator is a fairly presitgious job no?

Spoke of change and changed nothing? Have you not noticed the unemployment rate drop over the last few years? HARP has been pretty successful?
