got to love them...just got back from a short business trip to orange county. unfortunately i had to share a hotel room with my equipment specialist who is 50 something big and hairy very old school pretty conservative.

before our training he starts telling me "if you smoke pot I don't have a problem with that, if you have a drink i don't have a problem with that, if you get drunk and drive and kill someone i have a problem with that, if you smoke crack I have a problem with that"

I asked why he had a problem with people who smoked crack?

He says, "well I just dont believe that it leads to good things"

I asked if he had ever smoked crack and of course his answer was no. I shrugged my shoulders and asked how he could judge it without knowing? He told me I had a good point and he took back his statement.

I'm sorry but in this area I think your argument is invalid.

smoking crack has no redeeming aspects to it whatsoever. It would have to be a spiritual experience dawning upon that person as they light up the pipe that could make it somehow a good experience - otherwise it's nothing but trouble, in every aspect.

I'm all ears to why you feel how you feel - because frankly I think that old guy was just a loud old shit, who was wrong on smoking weed / drinking - only thing he seemed to get somewhat correct was smokin hard.

Ok so maybe the post was a little out in left field but it was just something that got me thinking; i could never judge someone for doing something that I have not done. I think it made him think, too. The crack wasn't the important part he could have said any number of things that he was not ok with all in which I would have begged the same question, "have you done that and if not how can you judge that?"
