I recommend the Nexus 10 this season. Just received mine yesterday.

My 1st gen iPad was showing its age, so it was time to upgrade.

Screen is beautiful, best tablet screen ATM, speakers are good.

I would go with a Nexus 7 if you want the smaller form factor.

FB, you can buy the Nexus 4 phone when more are in stock. $299 and no extended contract, sell that iPhone for $150 and you are good to go.

Don't know what the big deal is about IPads. Worst $430 I've ever spent.

Probably getting the Nexus 7 soon. It's more for the wife for ebooks, but the additional features will benefit me and the kiddo.

They are so crazy expensive. The mini is over $400.

Agree with everyone in this thread.

And the good thing about the Nexus stuff is that they get the updates before anyone because its googles product. so why us with samsung or htc are still waiting on jellybean OS the nexus already has it.

been saying that for year. tabs are lame in general.

i do like the windows one with a keyboard that also functions as a cover and stand.

IPad mini is a joke. Last years tech with 2009 price point.

I use my iPad more then my laptop. I type papers on the laptop, but do most everything else on a tablet.

Last night I had photos transferring with BT, utorrent running, browser with many tabs, and the nexus just kept on trucking.

That windows one is like $699, and it is a watered down windows 8. That keyboard kind of sucks, you wouldn't want to type for long on it. On screen keyboard isn't the best, but it is on par with those cheap case keyboard.

I recommend a Lenovo think pad if you type a lot. Best keyboard

i feel like pads if they eventually truly replace computers and notebooks still have a long way to go in terms of functionality and ease of use. for me they are still a couple years off from being something i think they will eventually be.

So true. Bought one the other day thinking I'd use it. Well honestly it's great for kids and such. I don't see how they're so popular because if you have a new droid or iPhone. You can basically do the same if not more; other than having a really nice hi def screen and people being able to watch you at a Starbucks typing on this site lol.

I guess these pads are the new replacement of laptops and carrying such bulky items.

Staples was unloading some 8 gigs for $160 in store. I know 8 is low, but worth checking out.

Hard to justify when you can get a 16 gig one for $199.

Can't settle for 8g, regardless of price.

Funny how 8g's these days are shit to most. Hell I remember back when we first broke a gig lol.

I don't want them to replace anything. That are a nice luxury. I use mine all over the house, school, etc. But I still have my think pad for real computing.

My Lenovo x230t flips into tablet mode, while maintaining all notebook functions.
