I shopped for a few weeks for headphones. I went into the shopping process wanting beats by dre, and when I finished, they were near the bottom of my list. I ended up getting the skullcandy mix master mike edition. Just go to the store and listen to some comparable models and you'll understand that the beats don't measure up. They look cool though.

Beats are licensed by Monster, so I would avoid both brands. My monster headphones were shit. My klipsch have been great.

I just bought my son those beats by dre headphones. I never listened to them, but I'm sure they are fine for him. I'm pretty sure he just wants to wear them around his neck anyways...lol
