My grandmother passed away today

She was in India, bro. And no, I am not flying back. In our tradition, we don't keep the body around too long because we won't embalm it. So, one or two days tops. She was cremated yesterday. All her children including my mom were there though except for my uncle in California who couldn't get a ticket on a flight to make the funeral although he is there now. They wouldn't have waited for me to come even if I could get on a flight right away - it takes about 30 hours to get to my home in India.

I see. Better way to do it anyway IMO. this whole keeping the body in a freezer and then putting it under ground next to a bunch of other dead bodies is creepy as fuck to me. dont see how anyone finds comfort in that.
