Yea im taking a roadtrip 800 miles back to fucken chicago. lol

fucken long ass trip. when i got here to my moms and finally got to bed and closed my eyes all could see was the fucken lines in the road. 815 miles is about the longest you want to drive in a single day. any more then that and you go whack.

In 97 I was so excited to be done with my Army training and get time off before shipping to Korea I drove nonstop from Ft. Huachuca, Az to Ohio (31hrs) at that point I had to pull over cuz shadows on the road were starting to look like bear and deer in the road. I slept in my front seat for 6 hours then continued to Pa. Never again.

Lol. You've never been in the military. 24 hr convoy drives were not uncommon. Don't tell me young'n. Once you get your mind trained that way its not so 'undoable'.

Obviously I stopped to piss, eat/coffee, gas and stretch. But nothing more the 30 minutes.

Were those 24 hour convoy drives done by 1 person driving the whole time?

Many times yes. You are supposed to have someone riding shotgun but when your teams are broken up and you are undermanned you do what you have to get the mission done. Don't question me about real world shit that you have no concept of. They were real humvees with steering wheels not a ps3 controller and recliner ;)

Blm, is it like they showed in Generation Kill, where the driver is drinking these energy drinks nonstop and getting wired beyond belief lol..

Speaking of long drives, did Boulder CO to Urbana IL nonstop in '88. I was so fried coming through St. Louis I thought I really needed to take a break, but Urbana was so close, I kept going. I was a dumb 22 yo, glad I didn't drive off the road. I think it was well over 1000 miles.

Didn't have the energy drink phenomenon like we do now. It was more cold coffee, eating dry instant coffee packs, and mini thins.

Until the baby, I was still doing Fl to Pa nonstop.; 1200 miles. I'm over that shit though. It takes days to recover and just wears you thin.

BLM Is correct. 72 hours is easy boys..most I ever did on a mission was 5 days. I crashed for almost 10 hours straight after that woke up pissed drank and crashed back out for about 5 more If I remember right.Took me another day or two to get back right. Normally after about 72 hours your a zombi..but driving for 24 hours is harder IMHO Like he said your eyse play tricks on ya. I remember we used to dip the dehydrated coffee packets out of the MRE's on LRRP's to keep going...LOL
