I kind of feel sorry for armstrong, I mean, he did what everyone did, but because he won, he's the center of attention. So he was kind of forced to dope, then forced to lie about it if he wanted to enjoy his winnings, now he's vilified and has to admit.
There again, he has his seven wins, everyone knows it, even if they take the medals away, they never meant shit. He now has a podium to reach the world and he's doing well

I think it's a shame that society is so obsessed with the fact that he cheated that it now negates the good that he did via his foundation. He took drugs, he won, he lied about the drugs. So what. He brought awareness and funding to cancer research. All these hypocrites pointing fingers. How many of them lied or cheated in their lives? And how many of their lies ended up potentially saving lives or contributing to possibly making a cancer victims life a little more comfortable?

Stupid to come out now, hello lawsuit city.
And cycling isn't that big in America, but it is HUGE in Europe. It has been a big part of European culture for many years, Armstrong just brought more US focus to the sport.
He ruined more then a few peoples lives during the course of his career, that is the only fucked up part. Every sport has always had competitors that want to reach a higher level and it will continue to be like that.
