if you look at what was put fwd some of it is ok but they really arent doing anything to solve the problem. its just making things more difficult for the responsible gun owner. also i believe we live in a different time where schools need to be armed. urban school dstricts hire security and police to handle situations. we should have learned this after columbine. clearly schools and universitys are soft targets and they know. the reality is we are going to be talking about another school tragedy on this board again.

Obama is and has always been out of touch with the American people, he buys votes with government money. It is still mind blowing that he was reelected. Using children at the press conference today was extremely disrespectful in my eyes, and should be in yours as well.

He wants more money to go towards public schools for resource officers? How about just let the employees that want to carry do as they please. How can a crumbling education system afford to hire more officers? Government is the worst thing to happen to our education system. The Feds need to keep their nose out of education.

I read the article and to some extent I agree/disagree.

I own 3 pistols and she has one. ALL HK models(love them)and have ammunition for enough protection. What I don't understand or comprehend and excuse my ignorance here. Is why do regular civilians need assault rifles or enough ammo to clean 50 people or more out? Just a question

If you're an avid hunter, then maybe make different regulations for those people as oppose to those just wanting weapons for the sake of it?!?!!?!

I don't agree with just a regular individual owning these types of assault rifles or all of these weapons. What's your purpose? Hell what I own is good enough to kill someone trying to come in my house or rob me or for work.

I know WE HAVE THE RIGHT to own these weapons and that's how our grandfathers built our country. But I also think that most if not some, have taken advantage of the system and this is what happens when someone does.

It sucks either way. I think laws should be written for different people.

You are getting your firearm information from the media, not a good idea.

An AR rifle is a civilian rifle made to resemble a military used weapon. The round it shoots is not "special" or "highpowered", the 556 is a mid level rifle round. Magazine size limits do not save lives.

You can't state that people don't have a use for any firearm. Most people like to go out and punch holes in paper, it is a hobby. The AR isn't any more dangerous than the 30-06 deer slayer.

This isn't about guns, it is about our constitution. What is next?
