I don't know of any decent gym to recommend.

For sushi TAKA!!!! No doubt, this guy is the best in the ATL.

Taka sushi and passion - Best Sushi & Japanese cuisine Restaurant in Atlanta, GA

Powder Springs??? You are way out of the perimeter.

If you leave and drive NW for 25-40 minutes you will see some real Southern Boys. lmao

You are pretty much going to be forced to travel on 285 to get to Alliance, goooood luck. I think they have a 7am, leave no later then 6am. Raining in the morning, so actually 545am.
My training will be mostly afternoons/evening which they have. Yea I keep hearing about the drive even the people I'm with have told me this; we shall see. Not like I have a time clock to do or a specific time to be there, unless we're having a video conference:panic:

I take this "Perimeter" is not my cup of tea; I like it where I'm at.

I will visit that sushi place because I've heard about it even before I got here, so I'm sure it's good stuff and thanks bro!

    Vortex for a burger.

The egg and grilled cheese bun make this amazing.
THAT SHIT/\ looks off the hook:thumup:Might need a roll of Tums after that and some beers:weights:

Of all things I'm excited the most about being here is training at Alliance. Where the best players of the world train at and have come from. Will certainly take it all in and learn. Most people don't know, but BJJ is not just about choking people out or trying to submit each other.

It teaches self discipline and on top of that, to be in complete confidence of yourself and surroundings; it's my addiction.

Gym wise? Hell several "fitness centers" around and good enough for me. I'm sure I could still do some power lifting. But not overly concerned with it either.

Come roll and I'll buy your fat ass lunch and we can go drink up at that brewery:agreed:

I haven't been on the mat in about 1.5 years, I wouldn't make the warm-up at alliance. I trained a few months at an Alliance affiliate, but I have heard that the HQ warm ups are pretty intense. I would be dead 15 minutes into the class, plus I think a visitor fee is crazy expensive.

Yea I'm home here in Ohio until Tuesday and then fly back

Holy fuck was Alliance a training and a half:woot: And I thought Brasa has it's world champs, which it does. But I registered with the main academy and holy shit bro. Not gonna lie, I did hang, but I was gasping during warm up; wow!

What an amazing experience and no wonder some of the best in the world come from there. It's pricey but worth it. I can not wait to learn their style and thought process. I rolled with some top blue belts and was very impressed considering I'm a purp. But I also rolled with a 2 stripe brown belt my weight and I kept up his flow.

Simply amazing and humbled to see some of the best in the world train there.

So far I like it bro. People are and those southern women with those accents are :hibb:

I can't stand those honky tonks with big ass trucks and tires. lol

I will be visiting more places to eat and yes we did end up going to the sushi place you mentioned and I give a 7.5; it's more hype IMO. But it was good for sure.

I agree Taka is a 7.5. I have tried a lot of sushi in Atlanta and I think he gets the best fish.

Do you like sushi, or do you like to order rolls and dunk them in soy sauce? I have figured out the two types of sushi eaters in America.

Damn on the warmup. I had heard about it from a few friends, I kind of thought you would come on here and say it wasn't that bad. If you think it is rough and you regularly train......seriously I would have puked. I hope to be training there by next August. I earned blue at an old school, but my ass would need to demote to white at the HQ. They have been making champions for years.

I like regular sushi as in dumping in soy sauce and then the real sushi that's just plain raw and you just eat:)

Yea I thought my cardio was good and it was "ok" compared to where I've trained. The school I trained in Cleveland was no rinky dink school either; they have a few world champs there and Brasa is a good team; but NOTHING like ALLIANCE:D

Man o man. I certainly walked into a jungle and fucking loved it. I actually had to wait on the mat for about 20mns to recoup for some energy before I could get the fuck up and go change lol. I love how structure they are, the people there from all ranks are humble and willing to help; that's hard to find at other schools. But training there is emphasized on having mental strength and being able to think quick unlike anything else.

Hopefully you know what I mean. Some schools emphasize on cardio, drilling one move for 30mns, etc...Alliance teaches you mind over matter and how to defeat anyone with the proper timing. Man it was the best training I've had yet in 14yrs. I would love to earn my Brown from them, which would take a few years; all because of politics and shit.

But their warm ups are no joke; I was like...You fucking serious about this:D lol
