If a cop was unnecessarily abusing someone and tasering them, could your draw your own gun and order the pig to lower the weapon or death, legally?
Probably not with the taser, but if you believed that this would cause great bodily harm, then at least in the Florida, it would constitute as self-defense...
You'll probably be unaware of this but I'm one of the finest shots in all of these lands, Rocket has seen my grouping and was fucking blown away, I've even practiced mock hostage situations.
I'm not against guns per se, I'm just positively in favour of effective gun control
That cop new what he was going to do as he turned his back on the driver... you can tell with body language that the cop is about to be cock smuggler... What complete dumb ass with lack any knowledge of the law. That's why the driver got $40,000. If I were the judge I would have given the cop intentional aggravated assault charges along side putting people in danger, GROTESQUE ABUSE OF THE LAW cause lets not forget that the driver was tased with his head on the traffic lines and made his eat my $h!ƒ for being a dirty pig... HELLO!!... This $h!ƒ really grinds my gears...
Guns owners always say "The 2nd Amendment gives us the right to protect ourself from the government! " wouldn't protecting yourself from a cop that was bullying you to where you felt threatened fall under that category???

Frank, it would depend on your state of mind... One of the elements of self-defense is that there would be an actual belief of force being necessary, so it would depend on the level of bullying that we are talking here. But yeah, after a long trial of murder or manslaughter, you could probably get away shooting a cop if the evidence is on your side.
Also, Mr. I, it's the prosecutor who chooses the charges, not the judge lol
Dude wouldn't have been tasered if he moved only when he was told to, and moved or stopped where the cop said to. I don't think he should have been tasered, but when a cop draws one of those on you, you stop moving and follow instructions.
Well, if he won the lawsuit somebody must have thought the cop was in the wrong. But you can find tons of situations where police officers bully citizens.
What about Rodney King? I know its an old story and not something that happens often, but if you're taking a beating like that do you have the right to defend yourself? I'm seriously curious.

The lawsuit that he won is a civil lawsuit, where the standard is much lower (only have to show evidence of beyond a preponderance of the evidence, which means around 51% on his side) in regards to personal injury.
Rodney King is actually a very good example of one of the first recorded bully incidents in regards to police officers doing what we all thought they used do. If you remember the case right, there was a trial with one of the main police officers, where he ultimately was acquitted, and the riot happened right after because of that...etc.
To answer your question, in most states, such as Florida and Texas you would have the right to respond to the offender, even if it was a police officer, as long as you were unreasonably attacked first. It wouldn't be hard to prove either, since nowadays police officers have cameras in their vehicle(that's assuming you were stopped like Rodney King). On the other hand, if anyone was in Rodney King's situation, it's very hard to do anything aside from trying to minimize the damage, when being attacked by around 10 police officers at the same time.
