It is pretty easy to sit there without knowing what happened, and Monday morning quarterback what happened, and again to decry the evils of guns. I knew the guy, and I doubt his situational awareness was off, and he decided to wily nily take a homicidal maniac to the gun range. If someone is going to commit homicidal violence, action beats reaction every time. Sometimes people decide to kill people, and they simply don't hold up a sign before they do it. PTSD could have been bed wetting for all we know, it is a hugely broad diagnosis.

As to why anyone can own a gun in the U.S., the answer is that they can't. There are laws written to prevent people from owning guns, both on a federal and a state level...Texas-where this happened, has specific laws regarding those with mental health issues possessing firearms..our government chooses to selectively enforce them, and attempt to pass new ineffectual laws instead of focusing on enforcement of ones currently written.

There is no point in debating the U.S. Constitution with someone that has no ability to fathom how significant it is to the foundation of our nation. It would be like me debating tea with someone from England, no concept.

I was about to say what a great post this was, I always give praise where its due. Your last paragraph kinda spoilt it, its ignorant zenephobic and plain wrong.

Anyway, my own fault for mentioning gun law issue in an RIP thread. Also I'm sorry for your loss.

Valid point, I was a bit testy with that last line. Chris was a good dude, one of the best, his buddy Chad as well, and trying to help another, and that's the shitty part about this. The rest is media fodder.

There is a memorial fund set up in regards to his wife and kids through his training company. As I am not entirely aware of board rules and such on the matter-if anyone is interested, I can post or PM the info.

..and I like Brits just fine, worked with a ton of em. ;)
