I just made 16K and only got paid 9200 outta that. it happens all the time but I am just sick of it 40+ % is retarded
I have a house I know that is the best write off but is there any tricks to not get taxed so bad?

Get paid under the table and don't claim any income! lol Sorry man, don't think there's any tricks out there. I hate it too. We just had our taxes done and were unable to get tax breaks for our kids and our rental property because we were in a certain income bracket. Sucks!

You are in one of the worst states regarding taxes, so move if you can, if that is out of the questions I suggest hiring a great CPA.

What you need is a financial advisor, not just a CPA. This has less to do with doing your taxes and more to do with identifying investments that can grow tax free. There are many of them, including IRAs, tax exempt bonds, various college education schemes that allow you to invest mnoney that grows tax free, etc.

Also key is an estate planner. If you have not done so already, set up a trust (the estate planner will know the best options for you) so that you (well not technically you because you'll be gone but rather your kids) don't get socked by estate taxes.

I was actually told to do that with my company I have now! I can use personal cash to grow buisness even if I don't make money and write off what I lost in the investment is it really that easy? Are the that dumb to fall for it?

Smaller businesses get away with it year after year.

I was half kidding. She works with large companies in asset management. She doesn't work with the public like a CPA would even though she has that qualification.
